Zoe and Claire host new band night...

Taken from Hollyoaks website...

If you love good music and HOLLYOAKS then you are going to love 'Tarquin Won't Jam' which brings together those two most special things.

'Tarquin Won't Jam' is a new band night hosted by the lovely Claire Cooper (Jacqui) and Zoe Lister (Zoe) at Liverpool bar, Bumper. 'Tarquin Won't Jam' promises to deliver 'pure entertainment in the coolest form'. Pretty big claim we thought, so we met up with Claire and Zoe to find out more.

Claire and Zoe first came up the idea after deciding that they wanted to go into business together and their shared passion for all things music, gigs and festivals had to be the inspiration. Talking about the night, Claire said: "It's not about us on the night, it's really about the bands, new and upcoming bands that have a great sound. "

And just who are these bands? "This month we have three really different bands actually, we have Xander and the Peace Pirates who are a kind of hippy band singing about war and free love. They are really great and have a good heart.

We also have Mark Hole who is actually a solo artist but he'll be bringing along a band and he is mental, he'll be running around all over the place. He great and really up and coming.

And finally we have Bird Vs Planes who are a girl-fronted punk band, all of the bands are really different actually!" Zoe tells us.

Claire and Zoe have big long term plans for the night, Zoe told us: "We'd like bands that come and play for Tarquin to then feature on HOLLYOAKS. It's all in the early stages of planning but that's what we want to do. Basically introducing the nation to new music, via Tarquin."

Claire and Zoe are clearly passionate about the night and boast a fun, cheap night with a great vibe. Claire also adds, "A lot of the HOLLYOAKS cast come along to support the night so if you fancy a bit of 'HOLLYOAKS spotting' then come along!"

The next 'Tarquin Won't Jam' is on Wednesday 4 March and ticket can be bought for £3.50 from www.tarquinwontjam.co.uk. Tickets bought on the door cost £5.00. Only people 18 or over will allowed entry to 'Tarquin Won't Jam'.

If you are in a band and you're interested in performing at 'Tarquin Won't Jam' then Zoe and Claire would love to hear your music. You can send your myspace link to the Tarquin Won't Jam myspace or website.
